Chris Maybury is Beacon’s Chairman and a founder of the company in 2005. Prior to Beacon, Chris was Chief Executive Officer and a shareholder of the Institute for International Research (IIR). Under his leadership, IIR grew into the world’s largest conference and performance improvement company and he was instrumental in its sale to Informa in 2004 for USD 1.3 billion. Chris has an extensive business background having held several senior positions at News Corporation including Chief Executive European Marketing and CEO Times Newspapers which included the Times of London and the Sunday Times. Chris joined News Corporation from the board of Marks and Spencer where he had served as Property Director.
Based in Bermuda, Chris enjoys sailing, car racing and is an avid wine collector. He serves on the board of several charities and research organizations, and is a director of several property development companies.
With nearly 25 years of events experiences, Daniel Kirwin is Beacon’s Chief Executive. Dan is a pioneer in business development having launched more than 150 events worldwide. As a result, he travels extensively for business and is a well-known industry executive. Prior to founding Beacon in 2005, Dan was Managing Director of the Institute for International Research (IIR) in Asia overseeing its conference and exhibition operations.
After Beacon acquired Mines and Money™ in 2012, Dan has been instrumental in expanding the brand into the world’s largest mining finance gatherings.
Daniel lives in Hong Kong where he is a permanent resident and interests include international travel, exercise, skiing, wine and dining out.

Paul is responsible for Beacon’s Commodities and Resources Division which includes its leading Mines and Money™ and Mines and Technology™ brands. With more than 25 years experience, Paul is a proven leader in the large scale events , exhibitions and conference industry.
Paul’s notable industry successes include moving the 3GSM World Congress from Cannes to Barcelona so creating the Mobile World Congress and leading the exponential growth of BETT, the global meeting place for learning technology.
Based out of Beacon’s London offices, Paul enjoys open water swimming, mountain walking, cooking and spending time with his four energetic children.
Irene has been with Beacon since its founding where she has led its event operations and logistics globally. Most recently she took responsibility for its Exciting Events division which includes leading annual events in the Finance, Gaming, Investment Immigration and Retail sectors.
Irene is a native of Hong Kong and was educated in Hawaii.

Anita Richards heads up Asia Pacific for Beacon’s globally recognised mining investment series, Mines and Money™ as Asia Pacific’s largest mining and
resources conference, the Melbourne-based International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC).
Anita is a strategic events leader with over 15 years’ experience in launching, managing and producing world-class events in the financial services, technology and resources industries. With an enviable global network of contacts, having managed events throughout the world, including Australia, Asia, the Middle East, Europe and the Americas, Anita is a proven business development leader.
Based in Melbourne, Anita is committed to promoting diversity in the workplace and sits on the Committee of AusIMM WIMnet helping to facilitate the professional development of women in mining. Having previously held the role as a Director within Deaf Sports Australia, Anita has a passion for facilitating the inclusion of the hard-of-hearing in business and in the wider community.
